Christmas hamper 2026 trends: what Utrecht employers are asking for this year
12 August 2026 · 6 min read
Hyperlocal, diet-friendly, less packaging and more story. The five trends shaping the 2026 season.
Based on the requests coming in this year, we're seeing five clear movements for the 2026 Christmas hamper season.
1. Hyperlocal beats national
Employers want employees to be able to point to the makers on a map. At Utrecht in a Box, every product comes from the city or its immediate surroundings.
2. Dietary needs as a starting point, not an exception
Halal, gluten-free, vegetarian and alcohol-free are checked in advance. We make variants within the same box, with the same look and the same value.
3. Fewer items, higher quality
Six well-considered products do more than eighteen filler items. It also cuts down on packaging and waste.
4. Story and provenance on the card
An insert card with the maker, their street and their story is now standard practice for us - it extends the gifting moment.
5. Smarter delivery
Bundling by address or postcode area, and a single central delivery wherever possible. At checkout you can choose between one address or splitting deliveries yourself.
