Putting together a Christmas hamper: the step-by-step plan for Utrecht employers

18 August 2026 · 7 min read

Budget, numbers, dietary requirements, personalisation and delivery - a hamper that works, in seven steps.

Putting a Christmas hamper together yourself sounds like fiddling with boxes. In practice, it's mainly a series of choices you can make in an hour - as long as you take them in the right order.

Step 1: decide on your numbers and your deadline

Our minimum is 15 hampers. From mid-October, production weeks fill up fast; book in September and you'll have the widest choice in composition and delivery date.

Step 2: choose your budget per hamper

In Utrecht, the sweet spot lies between €35 and €60 excluding VAT. Our boxes range from €25 (the Lombok Box) to €75 (the Neude Box).

Step 3: check dietary requirements

Ask briefly: vegetarian, halal, gluten-free, alcohol-free. We make variants within the same box, so everyone gets the same gesture.

Step 4: choose your base box

Start from an existing composition and adjust it. That's faster and better priced than building entirely from scratch. See all boxes.

Step 5: personalise - A card with your own text. - Logo on the sleeve. - Having your own product included (for example your annual report or a team photo).

Step 6: choose your delivery

Delivery to a single address is the most cost-effective and sustainable option. Home delivery per employee is also possible; at checkout you simply set the number of addresses.

Step 7: get the tax side right

The hamper almost always falls within the free allowance of the werkkostenregeling (the Dutch work-related costs scheme). Our explanation is at WKR & VAT.
