De Koekfabriek: biscuits baked with a second chance

De Koekfabriek started in Utrecht in 2013 and opened its very first city bakery there, around the corner from the Neude. Special bakers facing barriers to the job market work there by hand on biscuits they themselves call both 'delicious' and 'honest'.

That double meaning isn't in their name by accident. A biscuit simply has to taste good, but it can also stand for something: a workplace where people get the chance they don't always get elsewhere.

Our boxes carry their festive Christmas mix - wreath biscuits perfectly suited to the season, with the crunch you'd expect from a real bakery, not a factory line.

The idea behind a Christmas hamper is often: everyone gets the same. At De Koekfabriek, that also applies to the bakers themselves - everyone gets the same chance to show what they can do.
