Oproer Brouwerij: rebellious beer from the merger of RUIG and Rooie Dop

10 August 2026 · 4 min read

Sustainable, inclusive and plant-based brewing in Utrecht, from the approachable 24/7 Session IPA to the characterful Utrechts Pils.

Oproer Brouwerij was born from the merger of two strong-minded breweries: RUIG and Rooie Dop. The result is an Utrecht brewer that doesn't sit still, fitting the name perfectly.

Sustainable, inclusive and plant-based brewing aren't separate ideas at Oproer, but the starting point of every recipe. You can see it in the choices they make, from ingredients to packaging.

The 24/7 Session IPA is their accessible calling card: fresh, hoppy, but light enough to enjoy more than one at a party. The Utrechts Pils is the other end of the spectrum - characterful, firm, a pils that lives up to its name.

Oproer shows that brewing rebelliously doesn't mean compromising on drinkability. In fact, the balance between individuality and approachability makes their beers work for a broad audience.

In our boxes, Oproer provides the beer that pleases both the beer lover and the occasional drinker - exactly what you want in a Christmas hamper for a whole team.
